GCash App Setup: Full Verification and the Limits Behind Every Cash-In

Setting up the GCash app for casino use takes three things: a Fully Verified account, a mobile number you will use on both sides, and a clear idea of your limits. One change frames the rest. GCash’s licensed gaming services, top-ups and cash-outs alike, stopped for good on 16 August 2025 as its answer to BSP Memorandum M-2025-029; ever since, the app works purely as a wallet, and the casino’s own cashier does the asking.

GCash app: what changed inside it

Before August 2025 the app had a Games service in GLife. Now it has none, and three things follow from that.

1. No casino appears inside the GCash app, so a “GCash casino” link inside the wallet is not something to look for.
2. Per GCash’s help article, money left in a gaming wallet has to be withdrawn on the merchant’s side, using its own site and channels.
3. The merchant sets the minimum withdrawal, not GCash.

Verification: from Basic to Fully Verified

On Basic you can still cash in, buy load, settle bills and pay by QR scan. It cannot send money, which rules out most of what a player needs.

Verification starts at Profile, then Verify Now and Get Started; GCash texts a 6-digit code, asks for your birthday and citizenship, and wants an ID scan and a selfie scan before Submit. A single valid government ID covers it, and the decision arrives by SMS after 7 days.

A curator’s note on reading this table: the incoming column matters most for winnings. A Basic wallet tops out at PHP 5,000 received per month, so a payout above that stalls on the GCash side however fast the lobby pays.

Linking one number to both sides

The lobby’s register form asks for a mobile number, and GCash accounts hang off a Philippine SIM. Using the same number for both keeps the trail short when a support agent asks where a payout went.
