Baccarat is a two-hand card game in which you never play a hand yourself: you choose Player, Banker or a Tie, and fixed drawing rules finish the round. Aces score one, twos through nines score their pip value, tens and picture cards score nothing, and a total keeps only its last digit. Baccarat is also the second-largest family on MERRYPH’s Live tab, with about 282 titles, so knowing which room type you want saves a lot of scrolling.
Baccarat drawing rules in one chart
Each hand gets two cards. Two-card totals of 8 or 9 are naturals, and the hand stops there. Failing a natural, Player moves first: totals of 0-5 take a third card, 6 or 7 hold. Banker then follows this chart.
| Banker total | Banker takes a card if Player’s third card was |
|---|---|
| 0, 1, 2 | Any card (always draws) |
| 3 | Anything except an 8 |
| 4 | 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 |
| 5 | 4, 5, 6 or 7 |
| 6 | 6 or 7 |
| 7 | Stands, whatever Player drew |
When Player held on two cards, Banker copies that rule: a card on 0 through 5, nothing on 6 or 7. The dealer applies all of this; you only choose the bet.
Commission against no-commission baccarat
| Bet | Standard room | No-commission room | Edge, 8 decks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Banker | 0.95:1 (5% commission) | 1:1, but 0.5:1 on a winning 6 | about 1.06% standard, 1.46% no-commission |
| Player | 1:1 | 1:1 | about 1.24% |
| Tie | 8:1 | 8:1 | about 14.4% |
The trade is simple. No-commission rooms are tidier to follow because a ₱100 Banker win pays ₱100, yet the half-pay on a 6 costs slightly more over time than the 5 percent cut does.
The lobby’s baccarat shelf, sorted
Counts are titles naming baccarat in the logged-out list.
- Evolution, about 91: Speed Baccarat A to Z, No Commission Baccarat, Lightning Baccarat, Baccarat Squeeze and Control Squeeze.
- PP, about 57: Speed Baccarat rooms, Mega Baccarat, Big Small Baccarat, Fortune 6 Baccarat.
- PT, about 41: Quantum Baccarat Live, Korean Speed rooms, London Baccarat.
- SA, about 23, plus MG, VIVO, SEXY and EZ: numbered rooms that differ mainly in dealer and pace.
Speed rooms run about 27 seconds a round against 48 for a standard Evolution room. Lightning Baccarat strikes 1 to 5 Lightning Cards per round, each carrying a 2x to 8x boost, and pays for them with a 20 percent fee on the total bet, so it suits a short session rather than a long grind.
Curator’s picks by player type
| You are | Start with | Because |
|---|---|---|
| New to baccarat | A standard Evolution or PP room | Normal pace, full commission maths you can check |
| Short on time | Speed Baccarat | Same rules, rounds in about half the time |
| Chasing a big hit | Lightning Baccarat | Multipliers, paid for by the 20% fee |
| Fond of slow reveals | Baccarat Squeeze | The dealer peels the cards before showing them |
If baccarat’s rhythm suits you but you want an even shorter hand, Dragon Tiger’s one-card rounds use the same pick-a-side idea. The baccarat house edge beside other games shows how Banker compares with roulette and dice. For Evolution’s rooms in particular, the Evolution studio shortlist sorts all 392 of its entries, and the live baccarat and table hub lists every game. Read the register form and captcha before you fund any room.
How to Get Started
-
Choose between commission and no-commission
Standard rooms take 5 percent of a Banker win; no-commission rooms pay Banker in full but only half on a winning 6.
-
Leave the Tie and side bets alone
Tie at 8 to 1 costs about 14 percent of every stake, more than ten times the Banker bet.
-
Pick the pace that fits your budget
Speed rooms deal a round in about 27 seconds, so a fixed stake burns through a bankroll almost twice as fast.
